Time Ticks Away

I'm going to lose my reputation as a deep and thoughtful person if I keep quoting song lyrics to inspire and make my points, but here's a good one. It's from the song Time Ticks Away by the Celtic group Jigger.

Life’s not a dress rehearsal, one shot only on this stage.
Some believe in reincarnation, some have a soul to save.
But I’ve got plenty of things to do, you’re a long time in that grave.
There’s only 24 hours in a day, time ticks away.
Time ticks away day by day, minutes turn into hours and hours into days.
Time ticks away year by year, weeks turn into months and months turn into years."

Good thing to remember no matter where you are in your life. If good things are happening, enjoy them. Actually, do everything possible to MAKE good things happen, for you and other people.

If bad things are happening, remember that this too shall pass.

I don't want you to think that I am saying you should fill every hour of every day with activity. No one enjoys a sunny afternoon sitting by a lazy river with a good book, picking bugs out of my glass of wine (This of course, is on private property. I am a strong supporter of the alcohol ban on public lands!), and slapping mosquitos more than I do. In fact, I have several favorite places where I spend many an afternoon doing just this.

In my opinion, that is a prime example of how to get the most out of every day.

My soap box for the day.

Thanks for stopping by. The coffee is always on.
