If you like to road trip with friends, not all of whom may be fans of craft beer, it is always great to find a destination that combines both wine and beer. Such is the case with Imperial Nebraska's (population 2047) Hanging Horseshoe Brewing Company and Broken Arrow Cellars.
Don't be daunted by the fact that the establishment isn't much to look at from the outside.
Once you get inside, you will find a beautiful, cozy tasting room.
At the bar, the father and son team gladly pour a pint or a glass, and delight in talking to their customers about their craft, and what it takes to operate not only a craft brewery, but a winery and event space in a small Nebraska town.
The beer is exceptional. Offerings include Dark Sky Vienna, Peanut Butter Porter, Palomino Pilsner, American Pale Ale, and many more - either always on tap or seasonal.
Theirs is a small brewing system, but they take such pride in their work and approach it with such imagination and creativity, that they create some truly outstanding craft beers.
Their event space truly sets them apart from many of the other craft brewers or wineries in Nebraska.
A gorgeous banquet hall with stunning views of the vineyard, plus an upstairs loft space for smaller gatherings are well-used for local events.
